The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops, is the largest and most famous of the three pyramids on the Giza Plateau. Built during the Fourth Dynasty for Pharaoh Khufu around 2580–2560 BC, it originally stood at 146.6 meters (481 feet) but now is slightly shorter due to the loss of the outer casing stones.
